Where everyone told us that we were way too late in booking and that we could therefore forget about our dream trip to Zambia, there was Eric who we were able to call the same weekend (!) and still made it happen!

Eric from Khokelo Safaris has booked a fantastic trip through Botswana for us. Listened carefully during the intake because it was exactly our ideal trip (and more!). Highly recommended to have it arranged. He regularly visits the countries himself and therefore knows a lot (including which route is best to take). A nice intake and just before we went we received an explanation online with the latest tips. Waiver of the car’s deductible through Dutch insurance and a helicopter rescue in case of emergency was also all arranged in advance (fortunately not necessary 😉). In terms of price, it is no more expensive than the average large travel organization.

We had a wonderful trip in Botswana in July 2022. The this trip was prerfectly prepared by Eric van Khokelo Safaris and the personal conversation beforehand had yielded several useful tips.

We have experienced Botswana as a vast country with friendly people and beautiful wildlife parks. We successively visited Moremi, Savuti, Chobe, Nxai Pans, Makgadikgadi and the Kalahari. All these parks have their own character and were more than worth a visit. We also saw a lot of wildlife and enjoyed the peace, space and the beautiful weather.

The first week we were supported by a very experienced local guide. This has ensured that we became familiar with our vehicle and the routes (a lot of soft sand). Our guide guide us from Maun to Kasane. This made our first week a relaxed and beautiful experience and made us confident we could handle the rest of our journey ourselves, which was the case.

All in all a beautiful and unique experience.

Our story

The origins of our passion for Africa

We are Eric and Justyna. Every year, together with our son we return to this part of the world to enjoy the hospitality and mesmerising nature but also to check out the conditions of accommodations and routes. Not as part of an organised group trip, but in our own 4×4 vehicle with a rooftop tent.

Every time we experience a unique sense of freedom and adventure. To share this feeling with travellers, and because we know what it takes to have a care-free travel experience, we created our bespoke travel agency Khokelo Safaris.

Khokelo Safaris is your personal guide in Africa. Our mission is to create unique experiences, safely and responsibly. Our custom designed self-drive safaris can be booked as an individual trip, for couples, friends, family holidays with (young) children and extended family trips.
